Milk Fever Therapy

Each 500 mL contains:

  • *Calcium (Equivalent to 26.68% w/v calcium gluconate): 12.42 grams
  • *Magnesium (Obtained from 23.07 grs. magnesium chloride): 2.76 grams
  • *Phosphorus (Obtained from 19.46 grs. calcium hypophosphite): 7.09 grams
  • Dextrose: 75.00 grams
  • *Present as salts or boryl esters of gluconic acid.



For use as an aid in the treatment of milk fever, grass tetany, and other conditions associated with calcium, magnesium and phosphorus de!ciencies. Administer intravenously, intramuscularly, or subcutaneously. If given subcutaneously or intramuscularly, divide the dosage among several locations. Massage the points of injections to aid in absorption and to help prevent in"ammation and/or sloughing.

Calphos Caution

Solution should be warmed to room temperature and administered slowly.

Suggested Dosage

Cattle: 250 To 500 Ml

If there is no noticeable improvement in the condition being treated after 3 or 4 days of treatment, the diagnosis should be redetermined and appropriate measures taken. Aseptic precautions should be observed such as withdrawing from the bottle through a sterile 14 or 16 gauge needle into a sterile syringe. Disinfect the site of injection.
